Lab Culture

  • Life is more fun when you are doing things together. We like to work as teams to collaborate, bounce ideas around, cover and backup each other, and hopefully get there faster.

  • Big discoveries come from big ideas. We try to find the most exciting and original ideas and put our efforts there. Never let anyone talk you out of an experiment that you are excited about.

  • Everyone joins the lab hoping to get to the next level. Whether it is learning new skills, applying to professional school, looking for an academic or industry career, we aim to provide training and professional development to help our trainees grow.

  • We aim to support people from all walks of life. The lab should be a place where you can relax, be your best self, learn from your peers and reach your potential.

We are passionate about Science, but we are also passionate about values that allow us to perform at our best. Here we try to collect some of the inspirations, aspirations, goals and distractions that make coming to lab everyday an adventure and hopefully a pleasure.

Change the world.

Can small groups of people working together change the world? We believe so! Great things start in small places. You should do impactful science because . . . . why not? We hope to make discoveries that will help patients, lead to new technologies and improve our planet.

Build what you need.

You don’t have to go very deep into a scientific problem before you realize the tools you need to get the answer don’t yet exist. We view this as an opportunity to innovate and build things for our science and for the community at large.
